A nice relaxing deck and wide doors welcomes you to this beautiful General store, Café and takeaways. We needed somewhere to grab a quick bite for lunch but ended up relaxing on the tranquil deck way longer than we should have. So beautiful unwinding at the tables in the dappled light under the huge Pohutukawa tree. The lady serving us was a bundle of joy and laughter and made us so welcome. The food was heavenly and very well priced. A huge menu to choose from. Only a very short stroll to the beach so a coffee and great food or an icecream on the beach with views to New Zealands most active volcano, Whakaari - White Island would make for a beautiful stop as well. We highly recommended Port Ohope General Store and Café without any hesitation. We look so forward to visiting again. An absolute asset to Ohope and a real credit to the owners.

Excelled in customer service and Ice creams were oonnn!!! Fairly priced i think too cheap actually, will be back again. Wicked views and good summer stop

Staff were friendly and helpful, location and views were beautiful. 4/5 for food as the prawn twister was over cooked (inedible) and the fish (Dory) was a bit bland!
